Biography
Patricio Nicholson is an Argentine guitarist, composer, performer and instructor known for his work among acts such as Exceso, Estacion Babel and White Queen. He has worked as a session player with various artists. In 2019 he released his debut solo album. His most recent album, Sunset into Oblivion, was released October 24th, 2025.
An award-winning classical guitar player in his youth, Patricio, a Buenos Aires native, grew up in Miami during the eighties relocating to Buenos Aires early 1990. He began studying guitar in his early teens, incorporating influences from the rock & grunge scene of the late 80’s and early 90’s.
He began his path first with the classical guitar in 1991 under the tutelage of Felix Camara at the National Conservatory of La Lucila.
In 98 he enrolled at the EMC (School of Contemporary Music) and graduated as a professional musician in 2002, specializing in Composition and Arrangement a year later.
He was a founding member of the hard rock band Exceso during the latter part of the nineties, recording a debut called "Senderos & Venganzas", which was well received in the underground media.
Also a founding member of the progressive metal band White Queen, during the mid-2000’s, leaving the EP A Portrait in Time, released in 2007. During 2010 up to 2019 he was the lead guitarist of the rock/pop band Estacion Babel, recording the album Revolucion en 33.
As a producer he has participated in the musical production of the bands Pasos Perdidos and Redemption I.
Patricio currently works as a private teacher, as well as a professor at the EMC in the areas of harmony, ear training, ensemble and guitar.

Patricio Nicholson es un guitarrista, compositor, intérprete y profesor argentino, conocido por su trabajo con grupos como Exceso, Estación Babel y White Queen. Ha colaborado como músico de sesión con diversos artistas. En 2019 lanzó su álbum debut como solista. Su álbum más reciente, Sunset into Oblivion, se publicó el 24 de octubre de 2025.
Patricio, originario de Buenos Aires y galardonado guitarrista clásico en su juventud, creció en Miami durante la década de los ochenta y se mudó a Buenos Aires a principios de la década de los noventa. Comenzó a estudiar guitarra en su adolescencia, incorporando influencias del rock y el grunge de finales de los ochenta y principios de los noventa.
Inició su formación con la guitarra clásica en 1991 bajo la tutela de Félix Cámara en el Conservatorio Nacional de La Lucila.
En 1998 ingresó en la EMC (Escuela de Música Contemporánea) y se graduó como músico profesional en 2002, especializándose en Composición y Arreglos un año después.
Fue miembro fundador de la banda de hard rock Exceso a finales de los noventa, grabando su álbum debut, "Senderos & Venganzas", que tuvo buena acogida en la escena underground.
También fue miembro fundador de la banda de metal progresivo White Queen a mediados de la década deL 2000, con la que lanzó el EP "A Portrait in Time" en 2007. Entre 2010 y 2019 fue el guitarrista principal de la banda de rock/pop Estación Babel, con la que grabó el álbum "Revolución en 33".
Como productor, ha participado en la producción musical de las bandas Pasos Perdidos y Redemption I.
Actualmente, Patricio trabaja como profesor particular y también como profesor en la EMC, impartiendo clases de armonía, entrenamiento auditivo, ensamble y guitarra.
